Film Festival and Birthday

Cahill's 6th Birthday landed on the last day of the Film Festival. (gasp yes I just said 6th) ((mercy))..Okay so to celebrate the day of her birth Mema and I took Cahill to a movie and then the film festival activities after. Once we were done with that we headed out to lunch where Megan works. (which is some of the most incredible food E.V.E.R) They do such a good job making sure that non gluten and gluten food are safely separated. Cahill was so excited to go out to eat and to have Aunt May May wait on us. After lunch we headed home to open presents. (you could say she was a little excited). Then we spent the afternoon at the beach with grandpa, mom and dad and Hayley and Nathan. While we were at the beach my wonderful mother in law cooked cupcakes, two cakes, started dinner and cut and prepared for the party the next day. To say I have a amazing mother in law could only be a understatement.

Millcreek Camping

We returned to Millcreek campgrounds this year but what only someone could describe as a interesting camping experience. The weather did not co operate in any fashion and I was as crabby as a human could be. Cahill had her BFF Brooklynn with her so the girls had some serious fun. We did head out and spend a day at the Fort. Here are a few of the captured moments. I think that the highlight of the trip for Ashylynn were the rocks that could be found everywhere in the campground. She spent a lot of time climbing, jumping and crawling on the rocks.

Mr Toad

My girls have really enjoyed the books about frog and toad and their adventures. So you can imagine their excitement when mom caught a real live toad for them. Cahill just wanted to study and analyze him while Ashy kept flipping the container and shaking it. Cahill wanted to bring him in the house and feed him and sleep with him. Once I explained to her that would never happen she finally surrendered the toad to Ashy. Ashy let the toad go then caught him then let him go and caught him. Finally she let him go and explained to me that he needed to go back to his family. (thank God)

Cherry Festival 2014 - Kids day

As natives of Traverse City we always look forward to Cherry Festival each year. The girls always enjoy kids day, rides and the jumping dogs event. This year we had crazy at kidfest playing tennis, getting their hair done, chasing balloons, petting brand new kittens and of course having face painted. Kurt and I really enjoyed the Gibby french fries and the shade.

Ashlynn

Ashlynn seems to be growing faster then a weed this year. She decided this winter to jump from 2T clothes straight to 4T. She has finally shown signs of possible obedience, even though she is still a stink pot. But all in all she only wants to wrestle with anyone anytime. She loves to play with her little people and mommy and baby cow and reindeer are her favorite. She is always willing to share when asked nicely and always willing to fight when not asked nicely. She loves junk food and hates to eat anything remotely healthy. She is terrified of anything fruit related. If you stick a raspberry on her plate she literally freaks out. Her favorite books are Pappa Picolo, Madeline and We are Going on a Bear Hunt. Her favorite movie is still The Lion King even though she sings "Let it Go" from Frozen all of the time.
